New Delhi, Apr 18: The Himachal Pradesh Government will set up a call centre to provide free information to the visiting tourists, and make bookings for all Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) hotels online.
''The Government has also decided to increase the commission of the travel and tour operators from 10 per cent to 15 per cent,'' HPTDC Managing Director Ramsubhag Singh said here yesterday.
He said the State Government would also honour travel and tour operators who contribute maximum business to HPTDC hotels and units.
''World class conference facilites will be provided at Hotel Peterhoff and Himachal Holiday Home in Shimla to make the State capital attractive throughout the year,'' he told travel and tour operators.
He agreed to setting up Dilli Haat type centres at all important tourist destinations to promote local handicraft, art and cuisine.
He said all the units of HPTDC will be made online.
''Private tour and travel agents will also be provided facilities for booking online reservations in HPTDC hotels,'' he added.
