Bomb threat turns a hoax in Chennai
Chennai, Apr 11: An anonymous call stating that bombs would explode in the Family Court complex at Madras High Court premises turned out to be a hoax today.
Functioning of Family Courts I and II, in the three-storeyed building, were affected for about an hour following the threat call, police said.
The call, made from a PCO booth near Central Station, was received by the police control room at 1030 hrs.
Police, along with bomb detection squad personnel and sniffer dogs, made a thorough search of the premises. But no explosives were found.
During the search period, the judges remained in their chambers.
However, normalcy was restored and the Courts started functioning from 1130 hrs.
