Work on new Indian Embassy Bldg to Begin in Bahrain
Dubai, Mar 29 (UNI) Designs for a new multi-million dinar Indian Embassy building in Bahrain will be finalised next month and the work is expected to start later this year.
The project will also consist of the Indian Ambassador's official residence and a cultural centre with a multi-purpose auditorium and a big library, the Gulf Daily News reported.
''The consular hall and related areas will be spacious enough to accommodate the growing number of people seeking embassy services,'' Indian Ambassador to Bahrain Mr Balkrishna Shetty said at the embassy's monthly open house in Adliya.
Moreover, the new building in Seef district would reflect the growing global stature of India, he added.
Mr Shetty also said the new premises will be allocated space to safekeep passports of Indian workers, if they choose to keep it at the embassy.
