Cong will retain power: APCC Chief
Hyderabad, Mar 27 (UNI) Newly-appointed Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today vowed to retain power for the party in the next Assembly elections.
Addressing party leaders and workers after assuming charge, he said he would strive to strengthen the party by coordinating with partymen.
He expressed confidence that the party would win the 2009 elections in view of the welfare activities taken up by the Congress Government, during the last four years.
He called for enrolling fresh members to strengthen the party.
Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy said the Party High Command had taken a right decision in appointing Mr Srinivas as PCC Chief ''as he has the ability to coordinate with different sections of party workers.'' He said the party would win the upcoming assembly elections with a majority, securing more than 20 per cent of the seats it got in 2004 elections.
He complimented the services of former PCC Chief K Keshava Rao, during his three-and-a-half-year tenure.
