Saudi ''moral'' police under fire after detaining Indian driver
Dubai, Mar 17 (UNI) Saudi morality enforment police has come under fire in the media for allegedly humiliating a girl student in front of the public in Al Zahir district in the Kingdom after accusing her of improper conduct with her Indian driver.
A Makkah-based Arabic daily An Nadwa reported yesterday that the police of the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice ordered the girl, who was waiting to pick up her brother's children, out of the car and tried to forcibly take her purse and mobile phone in front of bystanders.
Her Indian driver was arrested and was accused of committing disgraceful acts with the woman. The girl's brother-in-law, later, threatened to take action against the Commission members, the Arab News said.
