Robbers held by Mumbai and UP police together
Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) In a joint operation in Sultanpur, Mumbai and Uttar Pradesh police arrested three robbers, including two hailing from UP, who had looted Rs 45 lakh from a Businessman's peons here.
Addressing a press conference here today, Deputy Commissioner of Police R E Pawar said businessman Kishor Jain had asked his driver Surendra Singh (38) and two peons to collect Rs 45 lakh from another businessman Swaminarayan, at Phydhoni in South Mumbai on February 23.

they kept the bags in the car's dicky. Two persons threatened the peons and a driver with a 'Toy' revolver and asked the driver to take the car towards Sewri.
Near Cotton Green, the accused tied hands of both the peons and one of them left the car along with the cash bags. The other accused alighted from the car at Mantuga after tying the hands of driver in the car itself.
Police took Surendra into custody for questioning. During the interrogation, he admitted that he had called two of his relatives from Sultanpur seeking help in the robbery.
Mr Pawar said a police team was rushed to Sultanpur and they nabbed Santosh Kumar Singh (39) and Harish Kumar Singh (28) with the help of Uttar Pradesh police.
Police has recovered Rs 39 lakh cash, four mobile phones and two 'Toy' revolvers from their possession.
The trio was produced before the Metropolitan Magistrate Court, which remanded them to police custody till March 7, he added.
