Loans of small landholders should be waived completely: MPCC
Mumbai, Feb 28 (UNI) Maharashtra Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) spokesman Hussain Dalvai today said loans up to Rs 30,000 of smallland holders should be waived completely.
Also, henceforth, loans should be made available at the interest rate of 5 per cent, he said.
Talking to reporters, Mr Dalvai said the Congress was trying for the same for a long time and is expecting that there would be some results in tomorrow's budget.
He also congratulated Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for giving due importance to Maharashtra in the budget and said he had requested Mr Prasad to see the situation of the local train commuters in the city personally, to which he has readily agreed.
Mr Dalvai welcomed the announcement at Deoband by the Muslim Maulanas condemning terrorism and said various Hindu organisations, who are also involved in spreading vibrant views, should also follow the same suit.
