End of factionalism will strengthen patry: CPI(M)
Kottayam, Feb 14 (UNI) The CPI(M) will emerge stronger having brought under control factionalism, that had plagued the party for the last one and half decades, Mr Pinarayi Vijayan, who has been re-elected as the CPI(M) Kerala state secretary for the third consecutive time, said today.
Talking to newspersons here, he said the effective intervention of the Politburo and the party state unit, had helped to cure the party of this ''scourge.'' This new situation would set the stage for the come back of those who had left the party, he said, adding this had also given a new vigour to the party.
The party had decided to provide a strong support to the State Government and help it in streamlining its performance after realising that some vested interests were trying to obstruct its works, he said.
''We are committed to protect the minorities even at the expense of our life,'' he added.
