Aiyyappa Bhakta Sabha opposes entry of ladies into Sabarimala
Puducherry, Feb 14 (UNI) The All India Aiyyappa Bhakta Maha Sabha today opposed the move to allow females between ten and 58 years of age to the Sabarimala temple.
Talking to newspersons here, Joint Secretary of the Sabha Mr S Kumaraguru said right from earlier days females between ten and 58 years of age were not allowed into the temple at Sabarimala, believing that Ayyappan was a ''Brahmachari''.
Even men visiting Sabarimala for a darshan would have to go through several restrictions, he pointed out.
There was no problem for granting permission for women in Aiyyappa temples in other places, he said, adding that the Sabha would oppose the move.
