Cold wave claims two more lives in Rajkot and Amreli
Rajkot, Feb 10 (UNI) There was not much appreciable respite for the people from the chilly winds, sweeping Amreli and Rajkot districts of Gujarat, with two more deaths reported, taking the toll to six during the past one week.
A 75-year-old farmer Goganbhai Punabhai Sagar was found dead at his farm yesterday in Lakhapadar village of Vadia Taluka in Amreli district.
The second death was reported from Dhoraji in Rajkot district, where Dhirubhai Makwana died at his residence due to the biting cold.
The cold wave conditions continued in Saurashtra and Kutch regions. Nalia in Kutch district recorded a minimum temperature of 1.14 degrees, Rajkot 5.3 degrees, Porbandar 6.4 degrees, Jamnagar 5.4 degrees, Amreli 6.9 degrees, Veraval 8 degrees and Junagadh 8.6 degrees celsius.
