Butician Uma aims to improve her Limca Book of Records
Bangalore, Feb 9(UNI) Limca Record holder and beautician Uma Jayakumar in an attempt to improve upon her own record in the Limca Book of Records is undertaking a record breakng event by taking up 180 minutes of non-stop bridal make up to 50-55 brides on February 11 in the City.
Addressing a press conference here today, she said that she would be performing at a mass marriage programme organised by the trustees of Banasankari Temple to the brides who are entering wedlock.
Replying to a question, she said " I am doing it free of cost as a social service and for each one of the bride I wlll be doing Hair Style, Facial make up and Saree draping and this will be my wedding gift to all the young brides".
Ms Uma, who had earned nick name 'One Minute Uma', uses single hairpin to make one hairstyle within Seven seconds which went into Limca Book of Records in 2005. In 2004 she had performed the same in 30 seconds which had earned entry into Limca Book of Records.
Ms Uma, after a decade of distinguished service, has built a beauty institution and more than 5000 students have underwent training from her have opened beauty parlour. She very frequently conducts workshops in rural areas giving awareness about beauty and self independently doing business.
