Davangere, Feb 4: The custody of suspected LeT operatives Riyazuddin alias Mohammad Ghouse of Hyderabad and Asadullah Abubaker of Hospet in Karnataka were handed over to the Corps of Detectives (CoD) by a court in Honnali in this district today. They were arrested when they were travelling in a stolen motorcycle on January 11, police said, adding that their allegiance to the banned organisation and their active involvement with SIMI organisation were revealed during interrogation. Soon after they were handed over, CoD sleuths took them to the state capital.

The arrested were produced in a First Class Judicial Magistrate court last month and Magistrate B N Jinaralkar directed the police to inquire into the antecedents of the terror suspects. Following, their terror links were grilled by police officers from different states like Rajasthan, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh and Goa. After today's hearing, the court directed the police to hand them over to CoD for further interrogation.
