Tamil Nadu: Paramour kidnaps man for property

Chennai, Feb 2: A middle-aged man was kidnapped by a three-member gang hired by his paramour at suburban Madipakkam today. The gang also forcibly took the signatures of the man's wife in some property documents and blank cheques, before kidnapping Sankar, who was staying at Sadasivam Nagar in Madipakkam, in a car.

Police said Sankar was having an extra-marital affair with the woman, Ambika, staying in the upmarket Annanagar area. As she had been demanding that his properties, which were in his wife's name, be transferred to her, Sankar had stopped meeting her.

The value of the properties were said to be about Rs 20 to Rs 25 lakh.

An enraged Ambika hired three goons, came to Sankar's house this morning, beat him black and blue, held his wife at knife point, took her signatures on the documents and blank cheques, and abducted him.

Acting on a complaint from Sankar's wife, police registered a case and launched a manhunt to nab the gang.
