Kathmandu, Jan 29 (UNI) Nepal Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has called on all agitating groups to participate in the Constituent Assembly election and reiterated his commitment to hold the polls on April 10.
''I appeal to my friends in Madhes and others to take part in the election,'' local media quoted him as saying.
''The onus lies on me to fulfill all your demands and I will fulfill them if Nepalis only say that they will take part in the election. This is the message I want to send to all of them.'' This is the first time that Mr Koirala announced it in public after he fell ill.
He addressed a programme at Shaheed Gangalal National Heart Center after getting permission from the Election Commission, in view of the Constituent Assembly code of conduct.
In his 12-minute statement, the Prime Minister said he was fit and fine now.
