Gowda criticises BJP top brass for fall of coalition Govt
Shimoga, Karnataka, Jan 28 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) President H D Deve Gowda today blamed the BJP national leaders for the fall of the BJP-JD(S) coalition Government in the State.
Addressing a convention of party workers here, Mr Gowda said he had decided to hand over the mantle of Chief Ministership to the BJP a week later than agreed upon by the two parties in the power sharing agreement, to avoid ''astrologically unfavourable times''.
Mr Gowda claimed that BJP national leaders had initially agreed to wait for a week, but later surprisingly they hurried with things and created a confusion.
''The BJP is responsible for the fall of the coalition Government,'' he alleged.
Stating that a ''curse'' had befallen his family and he was waiting to get liberated from this it, Mr Gowda said his politics was not of hereditary nature and JD(S) was a party for all castes and religions.
