Leopard electrocuted at Chandan forest area

A
leopard
was
killed
when
it
received
an
electric
shock
after
coming
into
contact
with
electric
wires,
put
up
by
poachers
at
Chandan
forest
area
in
this
district,
forest
department
sources
said
today.
On receiving information yesterday morning, a team of forest department reached the spot. The leopard's body was buried after necropsy. A search was on to track down the poachers. Three people were arrested, along with leopard bones on the information of two accused arrested in December, 2007, after being found in possession of leopard skills.
Khelan Singh, Mania Choudhary and Bablu Baiga were arrested and sent to jail yesterday. One accused was absconding.
