Online proj by Delhi Govt to bring MCD, DDA services under one roof
New Delhi, Jan 14 (UNI) In an endeavour to make Delhi a hi-tech city, the state Government today gave its nod for implementation of an online project that would provide services through a one stop shop with anytime anywhere facility.
The online project 'Jeevan', envisaging establishment of kiosks which would offer single window facilities concerning number of services relating to different departments and agencies in Delhi, was cleared at a meeting of the Delhi Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit.
Talking to reporters after the meeting, Ms Dikshit said the project was an effort in the direction of making Delhi a hi-tech city. The Chief Minister said her Government was committed to provide hassle-free services to the people of the city.
Ms Dikshit said 23 Departments and 104 services have been identified to be brought under the "Jeevan" project though, 45 priority services would be initially made available through "Jeevan" computerised citizen service centres/portal with on-line payment gateway facility.
The Chief Minister expressed confidence that the new project, aimed at enhancing the speed, convenience, transparency and responsiveness by facilitating citizens' interaction with Government and creating a unified interface for all Government services, would help in enhancement of satisfaction level of common man with regard to various services.
It has been decided to adopt a private-public partnership model to ensure sustainability, cost-effectiveness and accountability.
The kiosks would be established at convenient places.
Ms Dikshit said services concerning the MCD, DDA, Delhi Jal Board, Distcoms, NDMC, DTTDC, Fire Services, various Departments of the Delhi Government, MTNL etc. would be brought under the project.
New computerised citizen service centres/web portal would facilitate payment of various bills, issue of different forms, applications and information brochures.
The MCD services being included are:-Registration of Birth and Death Certificates, booking of parks and community hall, renewal and issue of Teh Bazari, collection of property taxes and other charges, collection of application for building sanction plan and on-line admission of students in primary schools.
