Patna, Jan 10(UNI) The RJD today criticised Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for exluding the life sketches of socialist leaders like Karpoori Thakur and Bhola Paswan Shastri from the curriculum of middle schools in the state and demanded their re-inclusion.

President of RJD Dalit cell and former minister Suresh Paswan told UNI here that the dropping of the life sketches of Karpoori Thakur, Bhola Paswan Shastri and Railway Minister Lalu Prasad from the school curriculum indicated the 'feudal' mentality of Mr Kumar and 'shows his bias' against their contributions.

Justifying his move, Mr Kumar had pleaded that life sketches on living personalities was against the norm.

Reacting to this Mr Paswan said Mr Thakur and Mr Shastri were departed souls and their life sketches should not be deleted.

He further said both the great leaders were self-made men and though hailing from downtrodden families they acquired significant position in politics. Their contributions to society were immemorable he said, adding ''it is our responsibility to apprise our future generations about such great people''.

He said only ideologies and philosophies of the great leaders were mentioned in the text books which were also approved by the NCERT.

Later RJD leaders, headed by Mr Paswan, torched an effigy of Mr Kumar and announced to intensify their agitation in favour of their demands.
