New Delhi, Jan 7 (UNI) The BJP today said Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati's concern about her security is a very serious matter and a reflection on the country's security scenario.
Talking to newspersons, BJP spokesman Rajiv Pratap Rudy held the UPA Government responsible for the deteriorating law and order situation. As a result, even the chief minister of a state was not feeling safe and secure.
It was now upto the government, particularly Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Home Minister Shivraj Patil to respond to it by taking such measures that could imbibe a sense of security among the common man who is more threatened today, he said.
Mr Rudy said the BJP had been expressing its concern on deteriorating internal security scenario.
Terrorists incidents were not more frequent and the government was continuing to show indifference to them. Now when the concern had been expressed by a person, not less than the chief minister of a party, which was part of the UPA, the Government would wake up to the situation, he hoped.
