Four-day int'l meet on crop protection in Delhi from Jan 8
New Delhi, Jan 4 (UNI) A four-day international conference on crop and environment protection will be held here from January 8, the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) said today.
The Conference on ''Agrochemicals Protecting Crop, Health and Natural Environment'' is being organised by the Society of Pesticides Sciences India, a division of Agricultural Chemicals in IARI.
According to an IARI release here, the US-based International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry (IUPAC), a leading international professional society of pure and applied chemistry with more than 8000 members worldwide, has agreed to sponsor the Conference.
It said the theme of the Conference was chosen taking into consideration fast changing scenario in crop protection and emergence of new concepts in crop protection, biotechnology, nanotechnology and other sciences.
The Conference would offer an insight into the latest developments of the relevant science and provide a forum for interactions among representatives of different disciplines from the world over, the release added.
The Society of Pesticides Sciences India has on roll 460 life and 26 corporate members, representing the country's prestigious national research organisations, universities, industry, policy and planning bodies and other relevant departments, it said.
