KRV demands jobs for Kannadigas in Railways
Bangalore, Jan 3 (UNI) Police arrested 30 pro-Kannada agitators in Hubli when they attempted to stall the D Group recruitment process of South Western Railway here today alleging that outsiders from Bihar were being cornering the vacancies.
The agitators belonging to Karnataka Rakshana Vedike protested in the city, in Hubli and Mysore where recruitment rally was held today.
They condemned the railway authorities and said Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav was 'dumping' his people into the railways in a large scale.
It demanded recruitment of only Kannada speaking people for the recruitment of thousands of D group being filled up from Hubli, Mysore and the city.
The Vedike staged a protest and urged the Kannada candidates to boycott the physical tests. They alleged that the authorities were neglecting the locals. They also submitted a memorandums in this regard.
