Islamabad, Dec 28: Pakistan People's Party (PPP) announced a 40-day mourning across the country, demanding an independent and honest investigation to probe into the slaying of former Prime minister and party's chairperson Benazir Bhutto.

Senior Vice-Chairman of PPP, Makhdoom Amin Fahimad, said PPP workers and family members of Bhutto should be aware of those involved in the incident. He asserted that post-mortem report would clear the true picture whether she was shot at or killed in a suicide attack. He said she left the procession safe and sound but overzealous party workers surrounded her and raised slogans when the incident happened. He assured that they would keep PPP alive and continue struggle in the best interests of the country.
