Shimoga, Dec 25(UNI) Exchange of students between Kuvempu University and Chinese Universities has been proposed, Kuvempu University Vice Chancellor Prof B S Sherigar said today.
Stating that there are ample demand for linguistic experts in the world, he said that under the proposal few of the Chinese students can be admitted to his University to teach Chinese language to the native and Kuvempu University students can take admission in Chinese University to learn that language.
"During my recent visit to China I held discussion in this regard with the concerned and there is positive response to the proposal", he added.
Prof Sherigar was speaking after inaugurating Federation of Language Teachers of Kuvempu University and Colleges.
He said that there is a need of market survey over the period for deciding or allocating the strength of the intake or implementation of any sort of regulation on particular course with regard to academic issues.
He said when the subject like Biotechnology and Bachelor of Computer Applications etc. were introduced in the country the intake of the students was very high. There was heavy pressure for admissions. But in due course the strength has been decreased, he regretted.
He opined that in order to make complete man and a creative one studying the languages and social sciences are very essential. In this connection language and social science teachers have to play a greater role in educational fields.
He also said that there is a need of providing a 'module' consisting of all the subjects to the students to adjust with the present society.
Prof Sherigar said that University has realized the difficulties of Semester system of education due to imbalanced ratio between students' strength and the teacher. He will bring it before the government and try to eradicate the imbalance ratio of students and teacher.
