Landmine detonated in West Bengal

Police
detonated
a
landmine,
implanted
under
the
metal
road
near
Kukurmuri
village
under
Jamboni
police
station,
early
this
morning.
West Midnapore District Superintendent of Police (SP) R.
Rajashekaran said posters and banners, justifying the two-day bandh call given by Maoist ultras, were found near the landmine.
Villagers informed police about the landmine following which a police team from Jhargram police station rushed to the spot and cordoned off the area, the SP added.
Later, a bomb disposal squad rushed to the area and detonated the landmine, the SP said, adding that tension prevailed.
