New Delhi, Nov 17 (UNI) Without directly mentioning Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanaidhi, the AICC today said the sentiments of Congressmen are bound to get hurt if the LTTE is "eulogised in any manner".
This is seen as a dig at Mr Karunanidhi, whose DMK paty is a major partner of the Congress-led ruling UPA coalition at the Centre.
Mr Karunanidhi had penned a poem eulogising LTTE political wing leader Thamilselvam a few days after he was killed in an operation by Sri Lankan security forces.
"The LTTE, categorised internationally as a terrorist outfit, deliberately assassinated our beloved leader in a brutal manner. The sentiments of all Congressmen and women especially are bound to get hurt if the LTTE is eulogised in any manner," the AICC said in its resolution adopted at the one-day session at the Talkatora stadium here.
Noting that peace and an internal constitutional settlement acceptable to all communities within the framework of a united Sri Lanka had still not been achieved, the resolution said the Congress-led UPA government's efforts towards this end should continue.
