Eight people die in road mishap in Bihar

At
least
eight
people
were
killed
and
five
others
seriously
injured
in
a
road
mishap
on
National
Highway
30
at
Katra-kala
village
near
here
today.
Police said the mishap occurred at around 1200 hours when the vehicle, in which the victims were travelling from Benaras to Mahaurio village in Kaimur district, collided head on with an oil tanker coming from the opposite direction.
While six of the passengers, all residents of Mahaurio, died on the spot, two others succumbed to their injuries on way to hospital.
The condition of the five injured persons was stated to be critical.
The deceased included the driver of the ill-fated vehicle, sources said.
Police said none was arrested so far, adding that the damaged vehicles had been seized and a case registered.
