Two more witnesses depose in Badal case

Rupnagar, Nov 2 (UNI) Three more prosecution witnesses in the disproportionate assets case against Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and others, deposed in the court of Special Judge G.S.Saran here today.

The prosecution witnesses Chief Parliamentary Secretary (Cooperation) Jagdeep Singh Nakai, Haryana State Industrial Development Corporation, Panchkula Assistant General manager Ms Sudesh and Assistant Manager Rajinder Kumar Tiwari deposed in the court and by and large supported the prosecution story.

Jagdeep Singh Nakai stated that he got his education from Lawrance School Sanawar (Himachal Pradesh) from 1974 to 1979 with Mr Badal's son, Sukhbir Singh Badal and had good relations with him (Sukhbir).

He stated that he had purchased two flats at Barakhamba road Delhi through Munjal Leasing Limited Delhi in 1997 at a cost of Rs.

21.08 lakhs. Munjal Leasing Limited had taken the sites from Som Dutt builders at a cost of Rs.15.16 lakhs.

He stated that he had transferred the flats in the name of Sukhbir Singh Badal in 1997 and received Rs 21,11,200 from him in installments.

Later on, he returned Rs 3,200 to Sukhbir Badal.

The prosecution witnesses Ms Sudesh and Rajinder Kumar Tiwari produced the record pertaining to the Allotment of Orbit Resort in the court.

With this, total 41 prosecution witnesses have deposed in the case so far out of which 25 have turned hostile.

Yesterday two prosecution witnesses Oriental Bank of Commerce Anandpur sahib branch manager Jit Singh and constable Balbir Singh had deposed in the case.

After the completion of the depositions, the court fixed November 26 and 27 as next dates for further prosecution evidence.

All the accused except Parkash Singh Badal, Surinder Kaur Badal and Sukhbir Singh Badal were present in the court during the hearing of the case.
