Mah: Noted actor Satyen Kappu passes away

cardiac
arrest.
He was 76 and is survived by his wife and four daughters.
Family sources said he was a severe diabetic and had high blood pressure. He suffered a heart attack this evening at around 1630 hrs and breathed his last while being taken to the hospital. The funeral will take place at the Oshiwara crematorium tomorrow morning.
Kappu began his career in 1952 with the Indian People's Theatre Association (IPTA). and look part in about 19 plays. He worked with top playrights and directors of the time, including filmmaker Ritwik Ghatak.
Kappu worked in more than 80 films as character actor with the top heroes of the time in a career spanning over four decades. Some of his prominent films included 'Kati Patang', 'Mausam', 'Anhoni', 'Jawani Diwani', 'Seeta aur Geeta', 'Yadon ki Barat', 'Zanjeer', 'Don', 'Sholay', 'Lawaaris', 'Mard', 'Coolie', and 'Deewar'.
He also worked in Gujarati and Marwari movies. He was an office-bearer of Cineartist Association also.
