Co-operatives should be more focussed : Patnaik
Kochi, Oct 28 (UNI) Kerala State Planning Board Vice-Chairman Prabtah Patnaik today called for the co-operative movement to be more committed and focussed to face the challenges of globalisation.
Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the 'International Seminar' at the sixth Co-operative Congress here, Mr Patnaik said '' the five-years plans were giving more importance to the co-operative sector to make sure that the benefits reached the needy.'' He said the farmers' and small scale producers' co-operative societies should be rejuvenated for them to get the fruits of the globalised world.
'' The co-operatives should also change the basic mindset and try to expand its activities to reach more people across the country,'' he added.
