Shimla, Oct 19 (UNI) India's largest FMCG company Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) is celebrating its platinum jubilee this year with several of its brands being used by over 700 million consumers across the country, a company spokesman said today.
Then known as Lever Brothers India Limited, the company incorporated 75 years ago on October 17, 1933, has its officers spread over 40 locations across the country with 15,000 employees, he said in a release here.
The spokesman said HUL's brands, like Lux, Lifebuoy, Vim, Surf, Rin, Wheel, Closeup, Brooke Bond, Bru, Clinic Plus, Fair and Lovely, Pond's, Lakme, Sunsilk, Kwality Wall's, Kissan and Knorr among others have become household names.
Quoting the company's CEO and MD Doug Baillie, he said ''as India's largest FMCG company, we have been close to the heart of India for 75 years and we pledge to continue our commitment to '''Earn the love and respect by making a real difference to every Indian''.
HUL's mission was to ''add vitality to life'' through its presence in over 20 distinct categories in home and personal care products and foods and beverages, he added.
