TN assembly Monsoon session begins today

Chennai, Oct 17: The Monsoon session of the Tamil Nadu Assembly, which began here today will last four days and would adjourn on October 22.

The duration of the session was decided at the Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting held after the day's business was adjourned, Speaker R Avudaiyappan told newspersons.

The House would meet tomorrow and the day after (October 19).

After a two-day break for Ayudha Pooja in the weekend, the House would again meet on October 22.

There would be Question hour on all the three days and some bills would be placed and passed during the brief session.

Later talking to newspersons, Congress Legislature Party (CLP) leader D Sudarsanam said his party has asked for extending the session by a day to discuss some issues.

''If it is not extended, then we will use the available time to discuss the people's issue on the floor of the House'', he added.
