PM receives warm welcome on arrival in Nigeria
Abuja, Oct 14 (UNI) Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here today on a two-nation, five-day African tour, to revitalise historic and broad-ranging ties with Nigeria and participate in the Second India-Brazil-South Africa (IBSA) Summit in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Wednesday.
The Prime Minister was given a traditional welcome at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Dr Singh was accompanied by the National Security Advisor N K Narayanan, Minister of State for External Affairs Anand Sharma and Minister of State for Mines T Subbirami Reddy.
The Prime Minister will hold discussions with his Nigerian counterpart and the President tomorrow at the State House.
He will be addressing the Joint Session of the National Assembly tomorrow where he was expected to sign agreements and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nigeria which is a leading manufacturer of oil.
