Islamabad, Oct 8 (UNI) Sindh Chief Minister Arbab Ghulam Rahim lauded the comprehensive victory of Gen Pervez Musharraf in Saturday's presidential election as ''success of the people of Pakistan''.
He was addressing the Provincial Ministers, Advisers, parliamentarians and others yesterday who had come to the Chief Minister house to congratulate him on the landslide win of President Musharraf.
The Chief Minister applauded the ''efforts of President Musharraf for putting the country on the path of democracy''.
''The assemblies are completing their five years' term whereas there was no such example in the country in the past,'' he was qouted as saying by Geo TV.
He was of the view that soon Pakistan too would be among the developed countries of the world.
The country needed the inspirational leadership of President Musharraf which would further strengthen the cause of democracy, said Dr Arbab.
''Pakistan is strong at the moment and we all will serve the country and its people with the best of our abilities,'' added the Chief Minister.
Dr Arbab said the new set up of governance after the coming general elections, would be beneficial for the country.
Sindh Assembly Deputy Speaker Raheela Tiwana also praised the Sindh Chief Minister on the occasion.
