Govt to recruit more cops to combat terror upsurge
Hyderabad, Sep 22 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh Government today decided to step up recruitment to police force in a phased manner in the next five years, as part of combating terrorist and subversive activities in the state.
Home Minister K Jana Reddy, in a release said a decision to this effect was taken at a security review meeting that Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy had with police officials here. The government wanted to increase the strength of police force by 30 per cent.
A final decision on the mode of recruitment would be taken on September 25, the release added.
