Prices of essential commodities remain steady
New Delhi, Sep 20 (UNI) Retail prices of essential commodities at four metropolitan cities have remained stable or shown mixed trend in the week ending September 14, government data showed today.
Monitored by the Department of Consumer Affairs, the trend showed that prices of rice, wheat, atta, gram, groundnut oil, vanaspati, tea, milk and salt were stable over the week.
Prices increased in respect of tur dal by 50 paise per kg at Delhi, sugar by 50 paise per kg at Mumbai and mustard oil by Rs two per kg at Kolkata.
Prices declined in the case of potato by 50 paise per kg at Delhi and onion by Rs three per kg at Mumbai.
In Delhi, prices of rice, wheat and atta remained steady over six months and that of sugar, mustard oil, vanaspati, milk and salt remained steady over the month.
