Ahmedabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh will showcase its tourism potential along with 17 other states while participating in the two-day National Tourism Fair beginning tomorrow at Rajpath Club here.
''Department of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation will set up an information centre and a stall at the fair to provide information to the visitors about the ever increasing tourism potential of Himachal Pradesh,'' Deputy Director of Himachal Pradesh Government's Information and Public Relations Department Rajendra Rajan said.
''Apart from the distribution and sale of publicity literature, documentary films on tourism, art, culture and development of Himachal Pradesh will also be screened at the fair,'' Mr Rajan informed.
''The fair is being jointly organised by Fairfest Media of Mumbai in collaboration with 17 states of the country. Himachal Tourism Department's Mr Des Raj Thakur will be the in-charge of the information centre and the stall at the fair. Representatives of airlines, travel agents, hoteliers, government and corporate agencies will also participate in the event to promote tourism,'' he added.
''The focus of Himachal tourism will be to publicise the new tourist circuits in Himachal Pradesh apart from promoting adventure tourism which includes trekking, mountaineering, skiing and paragliding,'' Mr Rajan pointed out.
