HC directs RSS leader to surrender in Madani attack case
Kochi, Sep 11 (UNI) The Kerala High Court today directed Shaji Kumar, the RSS 'karyavahak' at Sooranad, to surrender before the magistrate in the case relating to the attack against PDP leader Abdul Nasar Madani.
Justice K R Udayanabhanu rejected his plea to quash the proceedings against him.
In the explosive attack on August six 1992, Abdul Nasar Madani had lost his right leg.
Shaji Kumar contended that he was totally innocent and had no involvement in the attack. But the police submitted that Shaji was arraigned as an accused on the basis of the confession statement of Reghunathan Pillai, the first accused in the case. He further submitted that investigation in the case is complete.
