EPL: Liverpool Vs Manchester United - Combined XI

Liverpool, Oct 17: The much awaited North-West derby will kick-off tonight (October 18) as the old foes Liverpool FC and Manchester United lock horns at Anfield.

Two of the best tacticians of the game Jose Mourinho and Jurgen Klopp will be involved in a battle of their own to outclass each other tactically tonight in order to gain supremacy.

Klopp's Liverpool are flying high at the moment with a red hot form and are placed at the 4th position in the league table.

Jose Mourinho's men, on the other hand, have had a topsy-turvy start to their campaign. After winning the initial matches, they faltered in between. They are in the seventh position in the league table at the moment.

In this article of ours, we have decided to pick a composite team of best 11 players from both Liverpool and Manchester United.

Here is the Combined XI from both the clubs:

Formation: 4-3-3

Goalkeeper: David De Gea

David De Gea is one of the best goalkeepers in the world at the moment. The Spanish international custodian has been a standout player for the Red Devils for quite a few seasons. Compared to Liverpool's Loris Karius and Simon Mignolet, De Gea is far more superior.

Defenders: Nathaniel Clyne, Eric Bailly, Dejan Lovren, James Milner

The backline is heavily dominated by the Kop players. In the right-back position, we have opted for Nathaniel Clyne over Antonio Valencia. The choice was definitely difficult as both the player have had an impressive season so far. But Clyne being a natural full-back makes our cut.

Manchester United's new recruit Eric Bailly makes the cut alongside Liverpool's Dejan Lovren. Bailly has been simply brilliant so far and displayed some strong performances. Lovren has also been great for the Reds and thus is selected ahead of Chris Smalling.

James Milner has been a revelation in the left-back position this season. Owing to Alberto Moreno's poor form, Jurgen Klopp decided to play central midfielder James Milner. Milner proved to be brilliant alternative and now he starts in almost every big game as a left-back. The English international has also scored 4 goals.

Midfielders: Adam Lallana, Paul Pogba, Phillipe Coutinho

Adam Lallana is arguably the best midfielder in the English Premier League at the moment as he has been terrific for Liverpool in this season so far. The English international has totally transformed as a player under Klopp.

The most expensive player in the world, Paul Pogba joined Manchester United this summer for a record transfer fee. After a few hiccups initially Pogba is slowly regaining his old form and thus makes it into the combined XI team.

Phillipe Coutinho, who has been used mostly as a right striker by Klopp this season, starts as a number 10 in our combined XI. The Brazilian has performed brilliantly so far and will play an important role tonight.

Strikers: Roberto Firmino, Zlatan Ibrahimovic Sadio Mane

Once again Liverpool attackers dominate the strike force. Both Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane makes it into our team. Liverpool have scored 18 goals in 7 matches all thanks to their talented attackers.

Manchester United's superstar striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic accompanies the Kop duo in the upfront.

Substitutes: Loris Karius; Joel Matip, Antonio Valencia, Daley Blind; Jordan Henderson, Juan Mata, Anthony Martial.
