His average in home Tests since his 187 on debut against Australia, hasn't been impressive. In 11 innings since his debut, the Delhi left-hander has aggregated only 207 runs with a highest of 45 not out.
Soon after his dismissal, Dhawan came under sharp criticism on social media. Some even questioned his position in the playing XI.
Here's how Twitterati criticised Dhawan
Why was Gautam Gambhir called up for? To sit in the dressing room and watch shikhar dhawan fail? Disgusting #INDvNZ #indvnz
