London June 27: After the exit of Rafael Nadal, it was time for Roger Federar and Maria Sharapova to tumble out of the Wimbledon.
Sergiy Stakhovsky, ranked 116 in the world, knocked out seven-time Wimbledon champion Federer, 6-7, 7-6, 7-5, 7-6 on Wednesday.
"I still have plans to play many more years to come," said seven-time champion after loosing to the world No 116.
In the women's section, former Wimbledon champion and third seed Maria Sharapova was beaten 6-3, 6-4 by Portuguese qualifier Michelle Larcher de Brito.
The tall Russian, who won the grass court Grand Slam in 2004, slipped over a couple of times during the match and lost to the Portugal counter-part.
Andy Murray emerged unscathed on a day of astonishing injury mayhem at Wimbledon as the world No. 2 eased into the third round with a 6-3, 6-3, 7-5 win over Taiwan's Lu Yen-Hsun.Women's No.2 seed Victoria Azarenka and Rafael Nadal's conqueror Steve Darcis are among four players who have withdrawn from Wimbledon with injuries.
