UK tennis star Evans to be questioned by police over alleged 'sexual assault'

London, Apr.6 (ANI): One of Britain's top tennis players and a member of the Davis Cup team, Daniel Evans, is to be questioned by police in connection with an alleged sexual assault. etectives are investigating a complaint that a woman was pushed onto a discarded mattress and assaulted in the street after she left a nightclub in Bath, Somerset.

Following the assault in the early hours of March 19, Avon and Somerset police published a photograph of three men as part of an appeal for more information. vans, 19, was later identified as one of the men in the photograph, reports The Telegraph.

The police appeal said a woman, whose age has not been disclosed, left Club XL with a friend and the pair began talking with two men before one pushed her onto the mattress and sexually assaulted her.

Yesterday, police said the men in the photograph had been identified. The other two men are also believed to be tennis players.

A spokesman said: "We issued a picture in order to identify three men who we thought could help police with their inquiries following reports of a sexual assault. We have now identified the men in the picture and are currently making arrangements to speak with them in due course." (ANI)
