Becker accused of 'dodging' 21K pound charity auction pledge

By Super Admin

London, Nov.26 (ANI): Former Wimbledon Champion Boris Becker is apparently ignoring pleas to honour a 21,000 pound charity donation.

Forty-two-year-old Becker offered a day's tennis and trip to his Majorcan mansion at a star-studded celebrity auction last year.

But 17 months on and after numerous calls, the furious winning bidder has still not been able to claim his prize - though it is now expected to go ahead next spring.

The City banker paid the 21,000 pounds in full after the annual Raisa Gorbachev ball and was told to expect confirmation of the trip within days.

Despite the children's cancer charity trying to chase Boris up, the German star has not fulfilled his pledge, The Mirror reports.

The winner thought the weekend was never going to happen after reading an article suggesting Boris was looking to sell off his Majorcan mansion.

"Understandably upset, he contacted the Foundation and suggested Boris at least match the bid to raise more money for the charity but, again, nothing has so far happened. (ANI)
