Playing with a clear head took us through, says Collingwood

By Super Admin

London, June 10 (ANI): Playing with a clear head and without fear helped England to beat Pakistan and enter the super eight stage of the Twenty20 World Cup, believes the team's skipper, Paul Collingwood.

In an article for The Sun, Collingwood said: "In the space of 48 hours, we went from the depths of losing to Holland to the thrill and sheer relief of beating Pakistan. The key was playing with a clear head and without fear. We vowed to enjoy ourselves and not think about the consequences of losing and going out of the World Twenty20.

Then there was the small matter of getting Kevin Pietersen back into the team and a meal of burger and chips on Saturday evening!"

He further goes on to say that while playing for England, there can be both highs and lows, and that he had plenty of time to reflect on what in his view was an incredible weekend.

"The game against Holland on Friday was ridiculous. By ridiculous, I mean I still can't get my head round how they knocked off the runs. But the way we bounced back on Sunday (against Pakistan) was fantastic. It proved we can play under immense pressure and that should hold us in good stead later in the tournament," Collingwood said.
