BSNL Basketball Tournament Nov 3

Kochi, Nov 1 (UNI) As many as 18 teams from various state Telecom circles will participate in the 8th All India BSNL Basketball Tournament at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium from November 3 here.

Speaking to reporters here today, BSNL Principal General Manager M Haridasan said the tournament for men would be played on league and super league format with the help of Kerala State and Ernakulam District Basketball Associations.

Reigning champions Kerala would be fielding a strong team, which would feature international players like Anu and Bijo V Vakkachan.

Besides Kerala, the five-day competition would feature the participation of teams like last year's runners-up Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, MTNL Delhi, MTNL Mumbai, Himachal Pradesh and others.

Haridasan said BSNL was giving due importance to the promotion of sports in the country and had its own teams in basketball, kabadi and athletics.
