Board President XI at 80 for 3 as top order slumps

By Staff

Hyderabad, Oct 2 (UNI) Board President's XI top order failed to capitalise on the batting-friendly pitch on first session of the four-day match against Australia at Rajiv Gandhi Stadium here today.

At lunch, the home team was 80 for the loss of three wickets as Australian fast bowlers Mitchell Johnson, Stuart Clark and Peter Siddle saw the back of Jaffer, Akash Chopra and Badrinath.

Test opener Wasim Jaffer was first to go with untimely hooking the short delivery from Clark which Johnson caught at fine leg.

Jaffer made just 19 which included a couple of boundaries.

First change bowler Johnson got rid of Akash Chopra trapping him plumb in front of the wickets for 25 runs.

Then Badrinath disappointed the crowd by making an early exit falling to Siddle who trapped him leg before wicket.
