Shoaib too hot to handle at Eden Gardens

By Staff

Kolkata, May 13 (UNI) Delhi Daredevils could not dare Rawalpindi Express Shoaib Akhtar as the speedster was too hot to handle in the DLF-IPL T20 cricket match against Kolkata Knight Riders at the Eden Gardens here tonight.

The lush green Eden had always been a happy hunting ground for the controversial Pakistani as he made his succesful debut in this field way back in 1999.

Reliving the memory of nine years back, Shoaib today gave the initial breakthrough for the Riders, chipping in four wickets in his first spell of three overs conceding just eleven runs.

Returning Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag and subsequently Gautam Gambhir, A de Villiers and local lad Manoj Tiwary, Shoaib sent shock waves down the Delhi spine, and ultimately the Daredevils conceded the low scoring match to Riders by 23 runs.
