Bangalore, Mar 7 (UNI) Team India Test Bowlers Pankaj Singh and R P Singh underwent fitness test at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) here today.

The duo underwent the test under Trainer Paul Chapman, Physiotherapist Paul Close and NCA Coaching Director Dav Whatmore.

Former skipper Sourav Ganguly was expected to arrive here tomorrow morning for the fitness test.

Left arm seamer R P Singh, who suffered hamstring injury during the second day of the fourth and final test against Australia, would undergo the test tomorrow also, NCA sources told UNI.

The fitness tests included medical checkup, physical exercise, and short work in the field.

The Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI) had made it mandatory for the players, who have not played cricket for one month or more, to undergo fitness test at NCA before selection of national team.

Team India Test Skipper Anil Kumble, former Captain Rahul Dravid, batsmen V V S Laxman, Wasim Jaffer and bowler V R V Singh underwent fitness test yesterday.

The fitness was being assessed for selecting the team for the series against South Africa, from March 26. The NCA would submit the reports to the BCCI.

The selection, which was originally slated for March nine at Mumbai, was postponed to March 17 for the selectors to watch the players during Deodhar trophy matches.

South Africa is scheduled to play three test matches, the first at M A Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai from March 26 to 30, the second at Sardar Patel stadium in Ahmedabad from April three to seven and the third at Green Park in Kanpur from April 11 to 15.
