India has batting fire power to challenge Aussies: Ganguly

By Staff

Bangalore, Dec 10 (UNI) Former Team India Captain Sourav Ganguly today expressed his confidence of the team performing well in the Australian tour beginning later this month, on the sheer strength of its batting line up.

''India has the top batting line up like Rahul Dravid, Sachin Tendulkar, V V S Laxman, Yuvraj Singh and Wasim Jaffer and himself.

It can ably stand against Australia,'' he said.

Ganguly, who scored his maiden double century in test matches yesterday said that India's top batsmen had struck form ahead of the four-test series. Team India was 'accustomed' to Australian conditions. Despite batting on Indian wickets during last months the team was capable to switch to Australian wickets easily,'' he said.

''We have players who have performed well in Australia, England, West Indies and South Africa. I am sure they adjust to changes quickly. They have done it before'', he added.
