Andhra bounces back

Hyderabad, Dec 9 (UNI) Andhra bounced back pushing Hyderabad to brink at 53 for 5 in their first innings in the Ranji Trophy Super League Elite Group B match against hosts Hyderabad here today.

Electing to bat, Andhra were bundled out for a paltry 159 in 54.4 overs, with junior India batsman Gnaneshwar Rao hitting 42 including seven fours, being the top scorer. Opener Hemal Watekar chiped in with a useful 38 with four boundaries. B Sumanth, 25 with three fours and Pradeep, 22 also contributed.

India-A spinner Pragyan Ojha was pick of the Hyderabad bowlers taking three wickets for 43 while Shoeb, M P Arjun and Ashwin Yadav took two apiece.

Later, Andhra bounced back into the match picking trapping half of the Hyderabad side for just 52 runs. Medium pacers Vijay Kumar (3-23) and Kalyana Krishna (2-19) did much damage to the hosts.
