India lost track in the middle overs: Dhoni

By Staff

Bangalore, Sep 29 (UNI) India let lose the initiative in the middle overs to enable Australia pile up 307 in the abandoned first ODI here today, Skipper M S Dhoni said tonight.

In his post-match press conference, Dhoni said the team did not fare well between 32nd and 42nd overs. ''we should have secured a wicket then'' he said.

''The medium pacers deliver goods when the ball is good, when it is not good, they have to struggle'' he said adding ''we have to improve on this area''.

On the bowling of medium pacer Shreeshanth he said though he sprayed the ball initially, later he showed his gustiness to claim three wickets. He said the team opted four seamers as the wicket had come grass on it and offered good bounce.

Asked about Rival Skipper Adam Gilchrist seeking to continue with the game after rain interruption, he quipped '' there is little gap between bravery and foolishness''.

Asked whether he would opt for two spinners in subsequent matches, he said much depended on the condition of wickets.

On Sourav Ganguly's injury he said he had suffered a hamstring injury and would undergo an MRI scan tomorrow.
